Hey! 👋🏼 Let me introduce myself and tell you a little about how we got started! I’m Julie, owner of @wefeltthat - we casually started this adventure in 2015 when our son needed a way to keep oils close-by while attending school.
We found that a number of essential oils really positively supported his day living with a sensory processing disorder and anxiety. Going public with our creations was both exhilarating and frightening. We didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into, and leaned hard on friends and family for support. Eventually we found our footing in the online community and began to see the harvest of our labour.
We have watched hundreds of people get a hold of our vision, assisted parents wading through the same waters as parents with children with special needs, and risen with the tide. Many times we felt alone and isolated. Experienced the joy of a “makers humble pay check”, and lost and gained it all back 100 times over. We have been hurt, stolen from, and have had our hearts broken. We have had blessings and support and anonymous people give us money knowing when we needed it. We have raised funds with @roof4ghana in the thousands for a library for a people group and country we have never seen nor met. We have felt that pierce of conviction, knowing how blessed we are, and not wanting to take any resources for granted. We have seen great victory in our own health journeys, and suffered deep losses too. All along this journey I have kept one thing secret. One thing that I have hidden, not knowing how it would be interpreted.
For the last 18 months, this little business has fully supported my family. My husband took a step sideways in his own business so that I could take a step forward in mine. The seemingly “big hustle” you may see here online has been out of complete necessity. The pace I have been running along with the incredible and irreplaceable help of Adrienne has both overwhelmed me + caused me to see two things.
1- when the going gets tough, you put your head down and you get to work.
2- asking for help is necessary and needed for this whole thing to happen. I am beyond thankful for each and every one of you. Every bracelet. Every re-post. Every referral. We have kept our heads above the water, and the tenacity that it’s built into me is irreplaceable.
I am am so thankful for the love and support you have given us, and can’t wait to show you some of the new and exciting projects and products we will be rolling out in the next few months!
Yours in love,
